Children and youth are entering the foster care system at higher rates from families residing in low-income zip codes. Although there are trusted faith leaders and diverse churches eager to help, they often lack the resources or capacity to respond adequately. The fundamental question is, 'How can we build bridges and work together to strengthen children, youth, and families in areas with minimal resources? How can churches come together and fight to improve the lives of vulnerable and at-risk youth while honoring their unique traits such as race, class, and culture?' This session will offer practical strategies and tools that have worked in places like Los Angeles, New York City, Dallas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Florida. If you would like to learn how to partner with diverse leaders and churches in your community, this session will provide ideas and practical help.
