The process of becoming is one that has a beginning but no end. This is revealed to us in significant, but only partial ways by the world of neuroscience—but more wholly when we consider the biblical narrative. Both of these resources provide critical evidence that indicates that to become requires belonging. This reality has crucial, practical implications for the care of vulnerable children and families. This workshop will explore the ways in which becoming is first a matter of belonging and the concrete ways we can apply findings from the field of interpersonal neurobiology as it is informed by the biblical narrative to develop resilient families and children.
